The Wizard has one primary focus and that is on Dryer Vents only! It is specialty service because of the danger involved and should be performed with caution and professional skills. Dryer Vents that are not properly cleaned can lead to a very hazardous situation. The Wizard would like to share some information on the care and maintenance of your dryer vent.

Who needs dryer vent cleaning?
  • Commercial laundries
  • Townhomes
  • Condominiums
  • Apartments
  • Duplexes
  • Single-family homes
*It is highly recommended that homeowners have their Dryer Vent serviced at least once a year! Because Lint is so incredibly flammable, dryer vent maintenance is the only thing that will prevent lint from building up.

There are many factors that contribute to the proper operation of a clothes dryer, but the vent is perhaps the most critical. If your clothes dryer takes longer than one cycle to dry a load, then you may have a fire hazard in your dryer vent. Below is a description of a dryer's functions and how the vent is most important!

Why your dryer vent should be professionally cleaned:

Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) estimates that 15,500 fires associated with clothes dryers occur annually. These fires account for an average of 10 deaths, 310 injuries, and more than $84 million in property damage annually.

Mold Risk
A full load of wet clothes placed in a dryer cantains about one-half gallon of water.
A clean and properly installed dryer vent is critical to ensuring that the water is fully expelled.

Higher Energy Costs
The clothes dryer is one of the most expensive appliances to operate. A dirty vent line can drastically increase the dryer run-time, resulting in higher energy costs.

Safety First

dryer vent fire hazard
If your clothes dryer takes longer than one cycle to dry clothing, you may have a fire hazard in your dryer that requires a cleaning. Also, a full load of wet clothes placed in a dryer contains about 1/2 gallon of water, and a properly cleaned dryer vent is critical to insure that the water is fully expelled.

By cleaning the vent, you reduce the risk of mold and fire hazard. Furthermore, a clothes dryer is one of the most expensive appliances to operate in your home, and a clogged vent line can drastically increase the dryer run time resulting in higher energy costs.
